We have certainly never witnessed anything like this in human history: a whole people methodically destroyed before the eyes of the world, with full knowledge and complete visibility, happening in real time

Imagine a news story saying "Israeli child desperately scribbled her name on her arm to be identified after death in anticipation of being murdered by terrorists" How it'd shake the "civilized world" to the core for decades to come But she's Gazan, so there's only radio silence

The irony here is off the charts. Teachers are holding an underfunded, under resourced system together for years. A very rich man slagging them off at a Fine Gael launch is very on brand. He also called for transfers to Fianna Fáil. Very revealing.

Watch them try to distance themselves from this after they laughed like hyenas, while he had fun pretending he was a stand up comic at the expense of ordinary Irish ppl. Make no mistake, this is what FG think of most of the country. Mask off. No take backs. We’re a joke to them.

A fascist football club getting stomped into the ground so hard it causes an international emergency evacuation program might be the funniest thing that has happened in a long time.

A paramedic on an evacuation mission with the WHO reports he has seen "hundreds and hundreds" of Palestinians being driven south, and has seen many women and children, but no boys over roughly age 12. Where are the rest of the boys?

I prepared and defended my master's thesis amidst the sounds of bombing and terror during the Gaza war, to send a message to the world that we in Gaza deserve life and are waiting for the sun of freedom. We are waiting for the world to see us 💔.

No justice no peace

This is very likely why BBC Hard talk cancelled after 3 decades

As someone who lived in these so-called 'Hezbollah strongholds' (aka Dahiyeh) for 3 years, this framing is beyond irresponsible. It fuels a narrative which makes bombing a vibrant residential neighbourhood- of homes, hospitals, schools, livelihoods, lives- seem less a war crime.

Official Lebanese media has reported Israeli strikes on south Beirut, shortly after calls by Israel's army for residents to evacuate the Hezbollah stronghold - repeatedly bombarded for several days rte.ie/news/2024/1006…

Again struck by how crude Israeli propaganda is and how wilfully ignorant those who believe it are. Israel is attacking civilians while attempting to annex parts of Lebanon, justifying it by saying, "uuh they have rockets in their living rooms; they live in...Hezbollah houses."

Almost 2400 allegations of abuse at 300 Cathloic schools, and not a fucking peep from Ireland's "far right" about their favourite subject of "protecting kids". Fuck every last one of those racist thugs. No pasarán.

Horror upon horror. 308 religious-run schools in the dock. What argument can be made against nationalising these schools? Against separating Church from State in education? Or against seizing assets to provide some small measure of "compensation"? irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4146…
