I was playing Dragon Age Veilguard and came to a ✨screeching halt ✨ when I witnessed this scene. Y’all, I knew the writing in this game wasn’t great, but I didn’t know it would stoop to “COPY PASTE DISNEY VILLIAN” levels of lazy. It’s the same, nearly down to the cadence.

Biggest ick: Walking around public talking to yourself as if people give a sh!t about what you're saying.
The fact that you can't really be "mean" in Dragon Age The Veilguard is the most damning aspect that even some positive reviews highlight. Feels like that's an option that matter in an RPG. Ya know, choices/consequences?!
I keep seeing people compare BG3 and DA when it comes to their approach to characters and storytelling, and I think a subconscious factor is that in modern DA you're railroaded into accepting things. In BG3, you can go to the kindest character in the game and lop her head off.

This is the only thing that’s bugged me. Dialogue like this. It’s the “wait, what?” Of the Disney Princess era. It’s the “quirky wine mom” quips. Stop this.
This may not be a popular opinion, but so far I am really enjoying #DragonAgeVeilguard...
I’ve played a solid few hours into Dragon Age Veilguard so far, and I have to admit I’m liking it much more than I feared. The character creator is great, the graphics are TOP tier, and I really love the combat. I don’t necessarily love the art style, but I don’t hate it either.
