If Robert wins on Saturday, it is clear that the Conservatives Party will go full Trump/Farage, attacking our institutions and promoting online conspiracy theories. I guess that's what his supporters want, but for the rest of us it would be deeply concerning

The public had a right to know the truth straight away. I am seriously concerned that facts may have been withheld from the public. Keir Starmer must urgently explain what he knew about the Southport attack and when he learned it.

We will hold Labour to account for the promises they made to clear up the Conservatives’ mess.

This afternoon, in @UKHouseofLords with @LibDemLords I will be opposing the Government's withdrawal of winter fuel payments to 90% of pensioners. I do not think that every pensioner needs them, but this cut is crude and will be cruel to many #WinterFuelPayment @LibDems

Politicians generally get a bad rap, so here is a quick shout out to the underrated John Major, who insisted on creating a national lottery with the specific aim of putting money into British sport, tripling our tally of Olympic medals over the past 32 years

What kind of politician cynically spreads disinformation to goad racists into action, incite riots & thuggery, & whip up hate, @TiceRichard? “Many millions.” 🙄 The vast majority in the UK are decent, fair, kind & principled. You do not speak for me, nor millions like me.

Starmer can and should take the fight to Farage, Reform and others giving dog whistle succour to the rioting thugs. The ordinary Reform voter does not back rioting, looting and thuggery. Time to confront Faragism with its rhetoric.

Agreed. As should the Tories.

It's impossible to view the postings of Farage, without utter revulsion. He masquerades as a " reasoned commentator" on what he claims to be a national crisis linked to immigrants while claiming he deplores any lawlessness. Then he hints at more lawlessness if his warnings are…

Radio 4 is still talking about how up to 30 ‘protests’ are expected this weekend, when they mean ‘riots’. This devalues real, legitimate protest.

A riot is not a protest. A racist is not an activist. A thug is not a patriot. Far right extremism is precisely that. Words matter. Why are some in the media refusing to use them accurately?

The arsonists are blaming the fire brigade. The ballot opened while you were in government, Tom, after 14 years of neglect of GP services. This is another mess your party made that Labour is cleaning up. If you ever hope to regain trust, you’ll need to start by being honest.

Wes Streeting chose unions over patients. Now we will all pay the price.
