This is my experience with every innovation breakthrough I have been part of @GlobalGiving @FeedbackLabs @WorldBank - it’s the accidental and overheard conversations lead to creative solutions and inventions.

This paper argues science advances through conversations between a researcher who has run into an anomaly they can’t explain & a researcher in another field who wouldn’t have encountered the issue, but when they find out, have solutions. Universities are a nexus of serendipity!

It was a pleasure to be together with so many pathbreaking entrepreneurs and investors who are forging a new focus on the creative economy.

One of the strange things about airports is that almost no one knows who the CEO and top management are. They insulate themselves from immediate feedback and accountability pressures. Imagine if they felt their jobs were on the line when things broke down.

Total breakdown of operations @ewr airtrain operations. Never seen anything like it in all my travelling days. No @ewr staff or mgt to be seen. Downright bizarre.

So what I had believed to be nothing to me was simply my entire life. How ignorant one is of oneself.

It's commonly assumed (esp. by clinical staff) that online feedback is usually critical. In fact, at @careopinion about 70% is entirely positive. And what an impact that can have, if shared! 😊 #morale

Young people looking for jobs are flocking to Southern cities like Nashville, Austin and Jacksonville—with robust service industries, a relatively low cost of living and vibrant music scenes. wsj.com/articles/sunbe…

What a privilege to have been part of the @GlobalGiving journey from those first few $25 donations twenty years ago to nearly $800 million to 33,000 organizations in 175 countries. Thanks, @NasdaqExchange!

Twitter is going the way of the CB radio.

Very good in-depth piece on China's preparedness for COVID seems to bury the lede. Shouldn't it be: "Very few are vaccinated - and with vaccines that don't work well." That factor would seem to swamp all the others. economist.com/china/2022/12/… @aliceysu @DSORennie

The FT reports that the debt used to buy Twitter is going for 60¢ on the dollar, even though there is a very large equity cushion.
