Every time school vouchers are on the ballot, they’re rejected by voters. 💥 Colorado rejected enshrining vouchers in the state constitution. 💥 Nebraska decisively repealed the state's voucher program. 💥 Kentucky defeated vouchers by a 2 to 1 margin. nytimes.com/2024/11/07/us/…

Leadership isn’t about being the biggest bully in the class—it’s about standing up to the biggest bullies in the class, protecting vulnerable people, and helping deliver results for the people of NH. House Dems couldn’t have made a better choice than @AlexisSimpsonNH #NHPolitics

Congratulations to @AlexisSimpsonNH on her election as @NHHouseDems Leader! #NHPolitics

Interesting to hear Steve Bannon grilling the founder of Moms for Liberty this week about why the group fared so poorly last week. She didn't have an answer but I do: education is a major weakness for MAGA

#Solidarity!!! Standing up so educators have the tools they need to help students learn and thrive! 💙🇺🇸🩵

BTU members held the largest walk-in action of the year today, calling on @BostonSchools to settle a fair contract that gives educators the tools to help ALL of our students thrive. BTU educators have been working w/o a contract for 75 DAYS!

Never underestimate the power of a caring teacher.

This is why we have recounts!

Exhibit A for why you always seek a recount in a close election. Voting machine couldn't read this ballot, recounters and @NHSecretary ruled it wasn't a vote for Democrat Juliet Smith because it was the only X mark the voter made. #nhpolitics

As a state that contributes comparatively little to funding public education, relying heavily on local taxpayers instead, NH can't get behind this either!

Why it's going to be so hard for Trump II to abolish the Department of Education in a single chart. There's a reason why none of the states that pledged to stop accepting federal funding followed through. Deep cuts to local schools is not a popular platform

Need some sunshine? When Greg Abbott took control of a Houston school board, giving control of the district to the state, parent Lauren Simmons wasn’t having it. On 11/5 @LASimmonsTX146 won her race for Texas State Rep with 77% of the vote!

H.R. 82, the Social Security Fairness Act, would eliminate WEP/GPO provisions that unfairly reduce benefits for millions of retirees. The House could vote on it as soon as tonight. ow.ly/1aU250U5wxs

Americans who’ve paid into Social Security are entitled to their full benefits — period. I’m a yes on the Social Security Fairness Act, and urge my colleagues to join me. cbsnews.com/amp/news/house…

Tonight the U.S. House voted to correct a serious injustice involving Social Security benefits that has been a problem for decades. The Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82) will fix the unfair WEP/GPO provisions currently used to calculate benefits. tinyurl.com/bdpwch8n

Our priority here is our contract. Our ULP Strike was a warning to @nytimes and now management knows what we’re capable of. We know we are setting a precedent for the industry, and that means getting back to the table, and bringing the fight back to the office.

Hundreds of us showed up every day on the picket line, with hundreds more meeting across the nation and online. ✊ We could not have done this without you. ✊ From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Over the last 8 days, we accomplished something extraordinary: we held the first tech-workers strike in the nation, ran one of the first and largest remote pickets in the nation, and pulled off a successful boycott of both NYT Cooking and Games.

After an unprecedented Election Week ULP strike, we returned to work today and have called off the NYT Games and Cooking boycotts.

This!

The true “swing” voter for Democrats is *not* someone who usually votes for Republicans. It’s working-class voters who need to see that we are fighting for them and challenging a rigged system that works only for the wealthiest corporations. If they don’t believe that, they…
