This is not complicated. We were lied to. We are lied to. We will be lied to. We will have been lied to. The Govt lies.

“This will aid in giving the training ground a Premier League feel. We are delighted that the board have supported this development. We’re hopeful that the additional elements that come with the building will help us move to the next level.” Chris Wilder on our new facility 🙌

This is my Mum. She is 93. Had Covid. Recovered in the care of the dedicated staff at her care home who locked down earlier than government advised and cared with dedication, good humour and professionalism. PM could not even get his own adviser to follow rules.

The #BattleofOrgreave left deep scars present to this day - not only to those on the receiving end of violence, but also their children and families. Myself and @BallinDeborah interviewed folk affected by the clashes in our @echoesofprotest project ✊🏼mobile.twitter.com/EnglishRadical…

The Battle of Orgreave, a violent confrontation between police and striking miners at a coking plant in Orgreave, South Yorkshire, took place #OnThisDay 1984. It was one of the most violent clashes in British industrial history.

No mention of structural inequalities. No recommendations. No answers. No action. Coronavirus thrives on inequality. Inequality thrives on inaction. The government must act now to protect BAME communities. We must seriously tackle the racial injustices that scar our society.

THREAD: The government have been shamed into publishing the @PHE_uk report into coronavirus and BAME communities after threatening to delay it last night. It confirms what we already knew - that racial and health inequalities amplify the risks of Covid-19.
