Putin hat auch diese Wahl gewonnen.
I knew @thomasforth would have macroeconomic stats to back up my hunch that ex-DDR cities are more prosperous than northern English ones. I wonder what this month's budget will offer to bridge this gap, which should be a matter of public embarrassment to UK politicians? 🤔
Part of how Leipzig's economy caught up and overtook Manchester's, and every other large city in England North of London. tomforth.co.uk/humancapital/
Produced this for my editorial to highlight @BBCPanorama inaccurate HS2 programme BBC map reinforces false perception that HS2 phase 1 only goes to Birmingham when reality is it is a bypass for WCML south and only 1/3 HS2 trains go to Birmingham. Awful sloppy reporting
My highlight from #innotrans2024 John Smith of @GBRailfreight 'unveiling' his Class 99. Of the 133 vehicles on 3.5 km of track at the show, sadly this was the only UK rolling stock.
Looking forward to being a skipper on one of these cruises. Always great to see young children dressing the part and enjoying themselves. @lucs_canal is less than 5 mins walk from Linlithgow station so these family cruises are easily accessible from much of central Scotland.
It's nearly that spooky time of the year again when LUCS will be offering Halloween cruises. Book your family table at £6 per person (adult or child) here bookings.lucs.org.uk/cruise/4
Arrived in Berlin off European Sleeper from Brussels, now at Innotrans faced with hopeless task of trying to see everything of interest. Let me know if you are here
Blown away by my visit to Brighton’s @thetoymuseum Just so much there, inc early Lego, Meccano. Particularly liked this model of Daddy Long Legs railway which went through sea between Rottingdean and Brighton
Good in Brighton and see @PS_Waverley off the pier though had expected to take a photo of pier from the ship today. Missed sailing by a matter of minutes due to late train and abortive 20min walk wrong way from Portsmouth Harbour. Still am on ship from Eastbourne tonight
Great to be able to visit the impressive Kent’s Bank library. @SalvesonPaul has done a great job establishing this. Well worth a visit if you are in area when it’s open stationlibrary.org.uk
