I just can’t get over the fact that we allowed a country to descend into chaos, abandoned to slaughter Afghans who helped us, and gave up a strategic presence, all because we just had to get 2500 troops out. Absolutely nonsensical.
In doing so, we unwittingly prove the anti-social justice Christian set right. When we’re unwilling to stand up for Christian convictions, our argument for standing up for Christian compassion is weakened.
Many Christians, who are rightly promoting social justice, have become conspicuously quiet or ambiguous on the sanctity of life. I fear it’s because secular academics and activists frown on it. Wielding influence in Christian spaces while seeking secular validation is dangerous.
