I mostly review #history #memoir #classics. All book choices/opinions are my own. I don't do follow-for-follow. Link to my Goodreads page is in my bio #bookreviewer #booktwt #booktwitter #readingcommunity

1 email exchange sucked all joy out of me.I corresponded with my son's (11) math teacher, convincing her that my son wasn't intellectually disabled. He's so afraid of teachers (#anxietydisorder #selectivemutism) that prefers not to talk/ask for help, not to handle in his homework

If nothing happens and I prevail over my laziness, I'll write #bookreviews today and tomorrow. One book is an ARC about #Ukraine due to be released in May 2025 #netgalley; another is 'Airport' by Arthur Hailey (the 1970 movie based on this #book got nominated for 10 Oscars!)

18 November 1978. In Jonestown, Guyana, Reverend Jim Jones (aged 47), led a mass suicide-murder of himself and up to 914 of his followers. Up to 374 died by lethal injection administered by members of his People’s Temple, including 304 children.

Fall finally came to #Tallinn, #Estonia, in full force. Cold showers and winds, plus occasional hail #weather

I'm wasted from talking. My son and me watched 2 educational videos, on geography and astronomy's history. Then we read a novella, set in 19th century's Russia, he had as a homework. He was jumping, asking questions, engaging me in conversations the whole time #ADHD

After gruesome memoir, I switched to classics again. I'm #reading 'Airport' by Arthur Hailey. Main heroes're about to meet: Mel (an airport's director), Cindy (his cheating wife), Keyes (Mel's brother with suicidal ideation), a group of protesters, Gerrero (a desperate terrorist)

Last night, I was #reading this #memoir 👇 till 4 am. I can't recommend it unless you're a sociopath: the cruelty, the #sexualabuse of adults toward a child is unbearable. Woman walks in on her neighbor molesting her 4-year old and does nothing! How?!... #netgalley @NetGalley

My headache disappeared after I had a 3-hour nap (and took painkillers again). I'm heading to the biggest local bookstore @rahvaraamat to retrieve my online purchase, new #book by @TimothyDSnyder, bought with yet another gift card

Day without #reading due to a headache. Painkillers help temporarily. If the headache continues, I'll go to ER for an IV. All I can consume is Cola which contains lots, lots of sugar...

If anyone would like to beta-read "Harris in Exile", I'd consider it a favour. It's set amongst the political refugees from Europe living in exile in London in 1880, their loves & fights. An African king, Jaja of Opobo, enlists their help to stop the British stealing his land.

I finished #reading 'By the Second Spring' by Danielle Leavitt. In my head, I'm comparing this #book with others (memoirs, academic studies, popular history, journalistic observations) I read on #Ukraine. Review will follow. Publication: May 2025 #netgalley @NetGalley

I'm fighting an urge to buy yet another #book I have no time to read. The price for an ebook is €21. Help!

My husband hasn't shaved for several days (he took 2 weeks off). Some hairs in his stubble are white :( We are both 41. Time does fly 😶
