Sadly @UKLabour has decided that #PublicOwnership of #Water will 'cost too much', but having dirty damaged waterways is much more costly.

"We have the ridiculous situation of debt being traded by hedge funds who are gambling on water bills going up to finance a bail out... The water companies took a gamble on greed. Let them take the hit." @GreenJennyJones amendment 97 stops bailouts

I can’t help but think that, in a way, most of us contributed to this collectively. If the world had faced the planetary crisis, no candidate who denied it would ever be able to be on the ballot, let alone win. It’s never on front pages, the media hardly mentioned it during this…

Things have just got a lot more difficult . Here’s what I think . I had no control over what just happened . None . But I do have control over how I will react to it . And I am not going to give up on the beautiful and the good , the grip on my dreams just got tighter .

Chances of keeping warming to 1.5°C target are gone. We’re on track for 3°C by end of century. Current global commitments would mean 2.8°C For avoidance of doubt that would result in economic, environmental and societal collapse. unep.org/resources/emis…

Can you hear us calling for action on agricultural pollution too? We’ll be marching to demand action on ALL forms of river pollution. Without it, you’ll fail to clean up and restore the majority of our rivers. Will you meet us to discuss?

I would like to thank all those campaigning for clean water. I hear you. I share your anger. Together, let’s clean up our rivers, lakes and seas for good. My message to you 👇

YES! We want clear and honest labelling. This is part of our Manifesto for the Wye: wyemanifesto.org

Do you want clear labelling?✨ New poll results show that two thirds of Brits want clear labelling on meat and dairy products to show the conditions the animals were raised. We're urging @DefraGovUK to publish the results of the labelling consultation carried out in March.

All political parties have a moral responsibility for cleaning up our rivers. The Wye has many beloved swimming spots and devoted swimmers. It’s intolerable that our rivers aren’t clean enough to swim in.

So sad to see it’s not safe to swim in the River Wye at Hay. This demonstrates just how urgent it is to clean up our rivers. We hope with Labour in power in both Cardiff and London, there will now be meaningful action to tackle the shocking deterioration of water quality in UK.
