Yesterday I had the privilege of presenting my latest language documentation work as part of the Princeton University's Program in Linguistics Guest Lecture Series. I shared what I've been working on during my sabbatical- #MoLoASL and #O5S5ASL 🙌 @DanielMaierLin for the invite!

dailyprincetonian.com/article/2023/0… The first full cycle of ASL at Princeton to be completed this semester! I've been blessed to work with an incredible group of students and faculty members, including @DanielMaierLin Thank you @princetonian for doing a story on this historic moment.

What a great interview! So important. I’m glad @PBS is helping highlight the historical issues that led the perceived mainstream communities to see deaf humans and signed languages as subpar when that's clearly ridiculous (we're awesome!)

Dr. Erica Brozovsky interviews President Cordano about the science behind language development and the importance of providing Deaf children-and, indeed, all children-- access to sign language from birth. gu.live/XoPfY #DEI #languageaccess #languageequity #inclusion

It was really, really awesome working with @DanielMaierLin, @_noahbuchholz, and some wonderful students to write up the section on ASL in this homepage story. 👏

Thread. I use two cochlear implants to hear. I’m also an audiologist. I map CIs, including my own. I’ve activated other people’s CIs, seen their initial reactions, and accompanied them on their journeys with adjusting to this technology. Here’s why I can’t stand these videos:

Welp, the cat is out of the bag about our new paper with @jenniepyers and @lieberman_amy which shows that deaf children who have hearing parents have age-expected vocabulary growth when they are exposed to ASL by 6 months old. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Just finished this workshop on family transitioning from IdEA part C to part B. Excellent discussion of how parents should be aware of their rights and how to get involved in the IEP process. However, I was hoping to see a more nuanced discussion of FAPE.
