There’s been speculation that recent reductions in daytime power cuts in South Africa have resulted from improved performance of @Eskom_SA power stations but as the table below shows “unplanned outages”, as breakages are euphemistically labelled, remain stubbornly high.

Big news folks! I just received a turnout report for all of Soweto. This hugely important. Crucial though: DATA IS NOT AUTHENTICATED. Soweto turnout as of 6 PM: 68.77% That is insanely high and a really good sign for the ANC in GP.
2/ Very important note: This is not nationally representative, since it is primarily urban and mostly from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Tshwane, since that is where most of your #turnouttracker tweets are coming from. There just illustrative.
Post print deadline update: President Zuma has dug in his heels, telling the ANC to do as it pleases after it took a decision to recall him on Tuesday morning. The ball now shifts to Parliament. @BDliveSA
Good morning everyone. It’s day 4 of the #ANC54. Four more provinces still to vote.
[UPDATE] Voting for top six officials took place throughout the night after the ANC rescinded an earlier decision to postpone voting to this morning. Delegates have not slept and these are images from inside plenary [supplied] #ANC54
Good morning. Yes, it’s 4:36 am. Yes, I also couldn’t sleep. I’m at Nasrec...No, there’s no result yet. They say “mid-morning”. I’d say noon-ISH....
1/ I have some advice for delegates voting at #ANC54: Give careful consideration to how the electorate will judge your choices today. There are some serious danger signs for 2019. All 2017 township by-elections (outside KZN): ANC 62 (-12) Opposition 38 (+12)
Kelvin Kemm is often his own worst enemy. There is no chance that a nuclear contract will be awarded this year. 1st new IRP needed. Then a section 34 determination by Minister but only after NERSA concurrence & public consultation. Oh, & then there will new Court interdicts...
