This was a lovely day – hanging out with @ChrisGPackham for a big chat about trees and gardening for @The_RHS The Garden Magazine. Thanks to @DanMasoliver for interviewing us, to Chris for his time and to Julie Skelton for taking brill photos. I am very lucky indeed ❤️

If you haven’t yet bought your beloved a bunch of Valentine’s Day roses, maybe, um, don’t theearthworm.substack.com/p/our-bloody-v…

This month’s column in @GardenAnswers is all about how I softened my attitude towards so-called pests. I hope that you, like @FSzesnat, will read it and enjoy it

Love this by @DanMasoliver: "We have a habit of discriminating when it comes to which wildlife we welcome into our gardens, as if we're running (a) sort of Australian-style points-based immigration system... So this spring I'm adopting an open garden-border policy" #SupportNature

Wrote a fun (IMO) piece for @GdnsIllustrated today about why you absolutely should not be doing any gardening right now

Put the spade down! Gardening in January could do more harm than good, says @danmasoliver gardensillustrated.com/feature/dont-g…

Honoured to be in such excellent tomato-recommending company!

There are millions of 🍅 varieties in the world so how am I supposed to pick just a few to plant in my garden? I asked experts like @meristemgrows, @BriePlantLady, @DanMasoliver & others for help! Learn all the tomato secrets here--> rootbound.substack.com/p/how-to-pick-…

Even more depressing than the facts of this tweet are the replies, full of people worrying about the impact of leaf “litter” on their lawns. What better sign that our relationship with the planet is broken than people prioritising manicured grass over the rest of nature combined

Every fall, Americans send about 8 million tons of bagged leaves to landfills. But you don't have to. Keep leaf litter on the ground — it fertilizes the soil and gives shelter to small wildlife. n.pr/3FazW0t
