Our last paper @PNASNews, a large scale collaboration led by @PAISAJE_lab We evaluate the contribution of animal frugivores to forest recolonization in deforested lands. With interesting results on the distinct roles of some species.

Evolution created tasty, fleshy fruit because frugivorous animals helpfully move seeds to new areas. A study across Europe explores how “seed rain” from birds can move trees from forests to nooks and crannies in the anthropogenic matrix. In PNAS: ow.ly/FK2L50Q1Fyg

Fruiting phenology matters! So glad to share our paper on the importance of fruiting timing for future forest composition. Check it out at @plantspplplanet! Thanks to all the co-authors @jensmolesen1, @srgtmt and @ruben_heleno @CFE_UC nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/pp…

In this perspective paper we suggest that overhunting and land use change may produce characteristic shifts in the guild composition of #mammal assemblages, pushing them towards different #defaunation syndromes. doi.org/10.1016/j.gecc…

How seeds are dispersed is a crucial component for the persistence or change in ecological networks and the underlying landscape structure. Here's a great paper on a multilayer seed dispersal web nature.com/articles/s4146…
