Budget announcement: Capital Gains Tax (CGT) will increase. The lower rate of Capital Gains Tax will rise from from 10% to 18%, and the higher rate from 20% to 24%. The rates on residential property will remain at 18% and 24%. #Budget2024
Today’s inflation figures bounced modestly because petrol isn’t down as much as a year ago. But it’s significant that the price of services is now up only 5.2% - just as wage rises have slowed. And goods prices continue to DE-flate. Interest rates should drop again this autumn.
