Today, we welcomed all of our staff to a week-long of professional development! Special thank you to our C&I Department for organizing this catalog and ESOL teachers Sarah De La Torre and Miriam Frohriep, who volunteered to deliver professional development during DVU.
Lots of learning happening on Day 1 at #DVU. Our teachers participated in two 3-hour sessions designed to build capacity in their practices and pedagogy. #DVProud We also me our new Superintendent Matthew Gutierrez who inspired us with his heartfelt story and belief in education.
Today, government and history classes at DVHS dropped by the auditorium for a presentation by DVISD Board Trustee, Ann Heuberger! Ms. Heuberger presented on the history of voting rights and then helped register students who are eligible to vote for the upcoming elections.
Deep discussions around #RBs and the instructional core by the C&I team this morning before everyone headed out to support and plan with campuses. #DVFocus
C&I huddled this afternoon to define, focus, and break down our role in providing high quality Tier 1 classroom support effectively. #WhateverItTakes #DVFocus
Today we welcomed our new teachers at New Teacher Academy! Acting Supt Mr. Harris began the orientation with a speech and introduction to our district and campus leaders. The teachers then separated to begin the learning and got applauded back in by our leaders at lunch. Welcome!
Del Valle ISD is excited to announce the hiring of the district’s new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction and DVMS, Ojeda MS, and Popham ES Principals all of which were approved by the district’s Board of Trustees at the June 25th meeting.
It’s the first #BookBus day! Kids and parents are continuing their summer learning @DVISD_GES and across @@DelValleISD Teacher, administrator, & high school volunteers have a blast connecting our community kids with books. #DVProud

Another fantastic day of professional development at Del Valle University is in the books! Today, our science teachers explored the new TEKS for next year through some friendly competition! Teachers got to experiment in different stations such as this parachute-building exercise!
That's a wrap for Del Valle University professional development week! Thursday, our school counselors learned about service animals and their impact in an educational setting. The Health Services Department offered flu shots to keep staff healthy during the upcoming cold season!
What a fantastic afternoon of learning led by Superintendent Tielle and the Secondary Campus Leadership Teams from across the district. We meet monthly to collaborate, do some serious reflection and planning and learn from each other.
