I wear this to protect myself, and people I care about. There are a whole lot of people I don't care about very much. When I wear this, it protects them too. But only a tiny little bit. Interesting for me to think about, and for them to think about. A🧵

Person first language for fat people (ie: person w/ ob*sity) is not anti-stigma language. It's a tool of the weight loss industry -part of their ultimate goal of having just existing in a fat body be seen as a lifelong health condition (requiring expensive, lifelong "treatment")

I cannot stress enough how concerning #LongCovid looks: + immune/vascular/neuro/cardiac disease + prolonged symptoms + whole number % risk per infection + reinfections = Sequelae def at the higher end of the risk band compared w/ other common infections. = High cost of inaction.
