I've had a few queries about the stuff I've written on the social aspects of COVID - here it all is, collected on this website. Quite a lot of it is open access and therefore available to anyone to read/listen. socialaspectsofcovid19.wordpress.com

I'm encouraging people to connect on LinkedIn - there is a growing COVID aware, clean air research and advocacy and global public health activism presence on that platform. Join us and let's follow each other and keep sharing important information!

Good grief. What is the NZ government hiding? “The NZ government’s plan to withhold COVID inquiry findings until 2026 leaves the country ill-prepared for the next pandemic” theconversation.com/the-nz-governm…

Any research teams looking for a social researcher expert in studying patient experiences, information seeking and peer support to join them in their applications?

Me presenting about my research the other week at the New Fellows presentations, Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences @AAHMS_health . I brought my Aranet4 up to the lectern and showed it as I talked about my interest in clean air research and advocacy

Some of us have been literally shouting about this for years

The refusal of our political leaders and major media outlets to talk about this stuff continues to leave the field open for Covid deniers, anti-vaxxers and a whole host of other conspiracy theorists and grifters.

The kids are not OK

Today my son got home from the hospital (PFT) & told me he was sick of #LongCovid & asked me what the point of life is.. @FineFail & @FineGael provided NO SERVICES for #LongCovidKids. I can only think that they believe my son has fewer rights than adults, the right to healthcare.

Well, I very much hope there are strong air cleaners there, given that no one is masked up

Welcome to the Health Pavilion at #COP29! I invite leaders to visit us -- we share positive, renewable energy for clear lungs and healthy minds. Health can be a game changer for #ClimateAction – because it matters to everyone.

How the goddamn fuck do we live in a country where the media were hysterical over a War Memorial being defaced with paint last year and a woman was hounded out of the country years ago for a tweet about ANZAC Day, but actual Aussie war graves have been destroyed by Israel months…

Good article on how estimating the prevalence of #LongCOVID is difficult when socioeconomic disadvantage limits who can see a doctor - and who is believed sbs.com.au/news/article/t…

Hmmm. What this article does not address is the long-term impacts on health and life expectancy of ANY person who has had C19, whether they have Long COVID or not. There’s documented evidence of greater risk of heart disease, for example theconversation.com/can-you-die-fr…

1. Here are my thoughts on the pros and cons of staying on this platform. Pro: We were here long before Musk took it over. We built this. Con: He has used our creation to help elect a far-right autocrat, and build his own grim political career. 🧵

TB is surging globally. A reminder that C19 opens the door for opportunistic infections. How is a world population infected repeatedly by C19 going to cope with TB, bird flu and other deadly infections? news-medical.net/news/20241106/…

What could possibly go wrong in the age of Australians’ personal data being repeatedly breached, leaked or stolen?

"everyone will have to go through age verification process ", "Yes" said Labor Jenny McAllister Albanese's Social media ban requires everyone's Age verification by Labor before you can access social media. You will need Labors permission to access your accounts #NoAgeBan
