Cyclists are taxpayers. There is no exemption for sometimes opting to leave the car at home and use the vehicle that's easier on the climate. Cyclists cause less wear and reduce traffic, so we actually subsidize motorists. We also can't crush people. Who should get off the roads?
As a driver, I prefer bikes take the whole lane! I feel awkward not passing them when they are off to the right and like a jerk if I do pass them because it feels dangerous. Please take the lane! Don’t feel bad. I’m in a climate controlled, couch on wheels. I’ll be ok.
