In our latest work, we infer nuclear and plastid-nuclear incongruence in #Papaveraceae (#Ranunculales). It is really striking that floral symmetry transitions in these #eudicots coincide time & again with the genomic conflict detected. So many questions! frontiersin.org/journals/plant…

A great example of an herbarium specimen capturing a larger cultural context. This specimen was mounted with a newspaper article describing plans to convert part of southern Michigan’s dunes into a sand mine. Despite protests, the state commission approved the mining operation.
