The Village of Clarenbridge grew up around a market. When the market grew, the local landlords (Reddingtons), built a cut stone wall around it and planted beech and chestnut trees along the wall. Today this lovely piece of ground still remains a feature of Clarenbridge.

Native Oyster season comes to an end tomorrow. They are harvested when there is an "R" in the month from September to April, and they take a break and reproduce during the summer months. This ensures the sustainability of the native Oyster.
