Today, I turn 38. I've raised millions of dollars, married twice, had a kid, and recovered from devastating injury and depression. Here's 38 lessons I'd tell my 18 year old self:

I don't know a single person who works in tech and hasn't seriously thought about quitting and opening up a coffee shop in a small town in the middle of nowhere

😂😂😂

the longer i’m in this industry, the more i realize that “don’t be afraid to ask questions” is one of the worst pieces of advice perpetuated in engineering & tech. i’m *not* afraid to ask questions; what I’m afraid of is having to ask those questions to assholes

Has @JetBlue become the the biggest disappointment to its long time customers? Even thinking of Booking with them gives me anxiety about flights being cancelled constantly.

Coworker: My poorly implemented application isn't working! Is the network healthy? Me:

He really is.

Nate Diaz is truly one of a kind. * Felt so strongly he was innocent that he was willing to go rogue and spill all the beans himself. * Publicly demands 2x that he is exonerated and cleared by all parties or he’s not budging. * Is “unequivocally” cleared of any wrongdoing.

Very cool.

This is your periodic reminder that automation requires: - a team (not just one member) - long time investment - open mindedness - hardwork - ideally should also contribute back to the open source projects you are using

And there are some companies that tried to implement the network automation methodologies with 1 single engineer, and a couple of months later they tabled the project continuing to do everything manually.
