We have an opening for a postdoc in synthetic organic chemistry (new methods, targeted synthesis applications) with a small medicinal chemistry component. To apply, submit a cover letter, CV, research summary, and names of 3 references to justin.lopchuk@moffitt.org #chempostdoc
We are recruiting an assistant professor tenure track in NMR spectroscopy! Propel NMR methods and applications with prime access to a 1.2GHz spectrometer! Join us to shape a vibrant, future-oriented university @UZH_en . #AcademicJobs #ChemistryJobs #NMR Please RT…
@NSF_CSOE is hosting an Electrochemistry Bootcamp webinar next week taught by Tito Abruna @CornellChem We will stream it on our YouTube channel, but here is the webinar link too. It will be Monday through Friday from 9am to noon Eastern time. utah.zoom.us/j/98502911930
Sorry but no. A lattice has no atoms. It is a mathematical construct to denote periodicity. It does not physically exist. There are no atoms in a lattice so it makes no sense to talk about an atom missing from a lattice site.
But surely if you read carefully it says "an atom is missing from one of the lattice sites" - i.e. the lattice site is still there, but an *atom* is missing...
We have a organic synthetic chemistry tenure track position open at @AaltoUniversity! Come be my colleague! Retweets are highly appreciated. aalto.fi/en/open-positi…

Happy to share our new JACS paper dealing with solvent effects on photosubstitution reactions in ruthenium complexes! A great collaboration between theoreticians and experimentalists! Congratulations to Matthijs, Michael, and all our co-authors! pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.10…

Check out @saraalektiar’s preview article of an innovative report by @sigman_lab and @toste_group on using data science tools to offer a fundamentally different way to think about designing chiral catalysts! bit.ly/3N2bkdT
A nice resource for spectroscopists: #ChatGPT can assign organic functional groups to your Raman shifts! The results need manual checking and do not always include all possible peak assignments, but are a great starting point 🤩 #MolecularPaleobiology
Here we go sulfur team! Finally out thanks to all. Personal favorite is the well compatible turbo-Grignard that allowed my deep dive into heterocyclic sulfoximine space, as well as the painlessly diffracting S(VI) crystals via my crystallographer hands!
Today in @ChemRxiv we report our new chiral bifunctional S(VI) reagent that allows rapid access to enantiopure sulfoximines and sulfonimidamides. Over 70 examples and 5 applications to pharmaceutical synthesis are included. chemrxiv.org/engage/chemrxi…
