Shortening the trip from the farmer to the consumer; this is the ideal farm-to-fork supply chain. Fresh milk straight from their on-farm vending machine in the north-east of Ireland. Well done lads, I've heard only great things! #PastureBased #Sustainable #Milk #CircularEconomy

Right folks, its been a long process as you can see from the clip but were finally there. We are opening friday morning at 10am. Whole milk fully pasteurized and non homogenized, available directly from our farm through a vending machine. Eircode is A91NAO2.

Can relate... Getting called a farmer in school was the biggest insult. Now I am delighted to have been brought up on a farm. It made me curious about everything! And think of all those cool microbes I was exposed to by getting covered in muck and working in calf sheds 🦠🤷‍♀️

Historically growing-up in Wales those interested in Ag were deemed 'hambons', meaning 'non-academic'. Attempting to be trendy I studied zoology not animal science, although interests were in Ag! I now embrace being an academic hambon in a field that has never been as important!

#SustainableScience might not be on your mind, but take a look at our #labwaste Christmas🎄2020 vs 2019. Non-recyclable plastic waste is a large part of our waste stream at #Vision1 @teagasc, so we changed to Rainin tips @Anachem which are 100% recyclable...

Tweet Image 1

Well done everyone! Reducing our plastic use in the lab is an important step toward greener science! ♻️🦠 Looking forward to seeing what can be done in 2021. How can we re-use and upcycle what we once considered waste? Let's move away from take, make, dispose.

Dramatic decrease in single use plastics in our lab over the last year. Makes for a smaller Christmas tree but it’s a small price to pay! Kudos Elaine Lawton, @AmyHFitzpatrick @sligomicrobe @sara_arbu @DeUllivarri @aoife_mchugh @CiaraM_OD @LiamWal01881111 @leechfish Fiona Crispie

While all human activities commit to decelerate their impact on #GlobalWarming☀️🔥🌎 it is important to understand that not all carbon emissions (CH4 vs CO2) have the same net warming effect 🐮✈️🚗🍊

Proper accounting of the impact of methane emissions, and if they are increasing or decreasing from a source & overall globally, is incredibly important in climate policy. Especially for agriculture. Great white paper from @civiltalker: oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/downloads/acad…

To meet the growing global demand for food, agriculture has increased production while simultaneously maintaining (or even slightly reducing) its GHG emissions over the last 30 years (blue and red). Unfortunately, the energy sector has not followed suit! (green) @drsplace 1/2
