Dear Christian, let’s strive not to be petty. So if you feel; 1. Someone doesn't greet you, greet them. 2. Someone doesn't invite you to their events, it's no problem. 3. Someone doesn't host you, host them in your home.
We love the superficial idea of servanthood and humility because in our pride we like to be considered virtuous. But we do not like it when we are treated as servants and opportunities for humility come our way. True humility counts others as more significant than yoursel.
One implication of growth and godliness in a Christian is that they become easy to live and work with and difficult to offend. Volatile, temperamental, inconsiderate and overly sensitive individuals do not reflect Christlikeness.
Long book with short chapters is way better than a short book with long chapters
Dear Christian, you are not in competition with anyone. Your heavenly Father is in full supply of blessings to give his children. Do not fret when you see others receiving God's gifts. Rejoice with them and praise your father for his goodness to you and others.
Dear Christian, the right responses to tragedy anywhere and anytime are grief, sorrow and weeping, not theological and political debates. Beware of becoming insensitive to loss of life. And beware of missing the lesson that God in providence may be teaching us.
Just met identical twins on bus named charity and clarity 😅.
Dear Christian, God can change anyone. Never lose hope!
Here is a comprehensive list of novels that shaped my outlook on life & the tip of my pencil: 1. The Moon and Sixpence - W. S. Maugham 2. Song of Lawino - Okot p'Bitek 3. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer - Mark Twain 4. Black Beauty - Anna Sewell 5. Great Expectations - Charles…
10 Tips on making friends; 1. Get off your phone, remove the headsets 2. Communicate intentions 3. Make an effort & be patient 4. Don't be entitled 5. Have honest conversations 6. Take a chill pill 7. Do lots of life with them 8. Don't treat people like projects (relate)
I almost always forget to Carry breakfast at work..so much so that my office mates now always bring me breakfast 🤣🤣.. . Bless their hearts .
There's something almost spiritual about being in the presence of books. Magical. There's no way I'll ever read all my books, yet knowing that they're there, for the occasion that I do decide to pick one of them up randomly...that's a really comforting feeling.
Dear Christian, If you want a healthy church family, be ready to: 1. Pray for others 2. have your sins confronted 3. Put others first 4. Pick & drop off people 5. Take meals & run errands 6. Talk to awkward people 7. Open up your home 8. Teach bible studies 9. Attend meetings
Reading is not a symbol of status. It is a habit. An escape. An attendance to curiosity. Nobody reads to hurt you. It's not a gun
To those who keep bashing individuals reading novels in matatus: readers don't read them for, or against, you. Your inferiority complex is self-imposed. If your attention span is TikTok & Obare's BNN material, stick to that. A book should not scare you that much.
How long is a reading slump?. Is it subjective or there's an acceptable time. 3months, two weeks?
I've learned more about suits than I thought I ever would from that suit guy... I don't even care about clothes like that but his genuine joy and love for suits is so infectious that I read every single one of those tweets 😂..
I no longer hyperventilate in tragedy, or buckle under strain. Something's got to give. The worst that can happen is we'll die, then it ceases to matter. It's true that the bludgeons of chance are heavy, and we've bled a river. But something always gave, & I lived. We lived.
For someone who reads often I surprisingly struggle to write or express myself through writing. I feel like that's not supposed to be the case 🤔
Essentially, what you deserve is not a bargaining chip in the dating market. No one dates you on what you deserve, but on how well what you offer serves their needs. People who date successfully first establish what they will offer, then look for individuals to meet them halfway.
