Earlier this week we headed to Odisha to catch up with the OCPP masters students at Berhampur University. The positive impact their outreach has had on their local coastal communities in a such a short amount of time is really impressive!

OCPP held a workshop in Sri Lanka on Aquatic Animal Dissection & Molecular Biology. The hands-on training focused on sampling shrimp🦐 and mud crab🦀 tissues, equipping scientists with the skills to diagnose diseases and identify new pathogens affecting aquatic animal production.

@rwap5 used our in vitro tissue explant systems to examine OsHV-1 infections in a dish, showing that susceptibility mirrors donor animals. The toolbox for studying bivalve shellfish continues to grow... So many things are possible with a reliable tissue culture system.

We've just published a comparative genomic analysis of Ascetosporean parasites (Rhizaria). We produced genomic data for two additional classes (Haplosporidia and Paramyxida), and the undescribed Cercozoa M6MM, and combined that to the available mikrocitids bmcbiol.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
