35 years ago we all went to a football match, full of hope, on the sunniest of days. 97 men, women and children never returned. They're not just a number, they had lives and dreams, families that love them now and always. Us, the survivors returned, our lives changed forever, weโ€ฆ

I don't want lower taxes. I want hospital beds. Trains that run on time. Kids who aren't too hungry to learn. Libraries in every town. Rivers that don't run with slurry. Local councils not forced into bankruptcy. Politicians who don't venally line their own pockets.

Roses are red, remember you'll die, this rhyme is so weird, but so's today's vibe. Have an appropriately joyful and miserable Ash Wednesday / Valentine's Day everyone.

Every week my niece's treat on a Saturday night is to stay up to watch @McInTweet's big show, this week all we have heard is @joelycett's 'nan' song. She's (niece) always singing it and puts it on iplayer at least once a day! Thanks guys! Thanks!

I'm not a great protester, but I will march on Parliament if this government tries to legislate to override a supreme court decision, and international human rights legislation. It's a very, very worrying idea.

โ€˜Should you be gay and fall in love and have sexual relations with someone twice, just twice, thatโ€™s it. Death. Executed. Hanged by the neck until dead.โ€™ The Anglican Archbishop of Uganda thinks that this law is good news - Gospel. thecritic.co.uk/issues/july-20โ€ฆ

3 sleeps left in my curacy house before moving to my curacy flat. 1 day to actually get stuff done. Every room is full of boxes or piles of crap to sort through. I'm not going to make it through this unchanged!

There is no justification for any province of the Anglican Communion to support the criminalisation of LGBTQ people: not in our resolutions, our teachings, or the Gospel we share. After writing to the Primate of Uganda, I make the following statement: bit.ly/43tFWKN

This whole thread is beautiful and what I needed to read today. Thank you so much @ZachWLambert

Trying to silence and sideline women is anything but โ€œbiblical.โ€ In fact, the Bible is filled with women leading, preaching, and pastoring. Here are a fewโ€ฆ 1. Deborah - judge and prophet, exercising full authority over the nation of Israel (Judges 4-5)

#MorningPrayer Elizabethโ€™s child leapt for joy in her womb, Lord, as he encountered love incarnate. Mary sang her song of joy and hope for all the world. Inspire joy and hope in us today, that we may be a Magnificat people, lifting the lowly, filling the empty, one family in you.

Reading this in the barbers and trying to explain to him why I'm crying over french nuns. (Not a conversation he was expecting).

While writing my new book I did a lot of research, hunting down saints, hiking across wildernesses, seeking out half-forgotten holy wells, and scrambling into crypts. I was searching for stories, I guess. But the story of faith that affected me most came as a surprise...

Having to move for the last few months of curacy, mix up with contracts, so downsizing from 4 bed house to 2 bed flat. Not ideal but needs must. Going through boxes not unpacked since moving here, trying to find storage, movers etc is unexpectedly tiring and emotional.
