What comes after the Autumn Budget? It’s time to talk about housing-led regeneration dlvr.it/TFtq0Q #ukhousing

Really chuffed to be speaking at the @PlaceShapers Annual Conference.  We’ll be discussing how can we realise the opportunities of a place-based approach to housing. Joining me on the panel chaired by @CatherineRyder are @AhsanKhan_wf & @victordacuhna

New funding for affordable homes is very welcome, but it would good to see some ambition on regeneration too. Great to share some thoughts with @insidehousing today. #placeshapers #budget2024 #ukhousing insidehousing.co.uk/comment/what-c…

We are very lucky to have Jo on our board and can't wait to work more closely with her and the Greatwell Homes team over the coming months.

So please to have joined the @placeshapers board. Really chimes with the @greatwellhomes values of Creating places people are proud to call home and making a positive contribution to neighbourhoods. insidehousing.co.uk/news/placeshap…

One would be amazing..... But we're delighted to welcome four new chief executives to our Board. 💯.@MatthewLeedsFed “Individually Donna, Charlie, Jo and Matt are outstanding additions. Collectively they will help drive us forward." #ukhousing placeshapers.org/four-new-place…

I had a great day in Liverpool, learning more about Speke and Garston and the work of South Liverpool Homes.

Defining what makes up place-shaping....harder than it sounds. "But you know it when you see it" says @CatherineRyder in a new #PlaceShapers blog. Thank you South Liverpool Homes for sharing your place-shaping approach. 🐝Honey was a lovely surprise. placeshapers.org/place-shaping-…

A massive welcome to @PioneerGroup_ to #PlaceShapers. Pioneer are an organisation deeply committed to place and we can't wait to work with them to achieve our vision of putting place-shaping at the heart of decision-making. placeshapers.org/welcome-back-p…

Great thread from Nick. Completely agree with the point about mopping up every £ of funding and getting organisations together at a local level to bring what they can and crack on. #PlaceShapers.

🧵 1/8 Yesterday was a good day for housing. Lots of steps forward - although the number that were really just 'reversing decisions' is sobering. As a statement of intent @AngelaRayner has emphatically shifted the agenda. Here's the 'but'

Great to be part of this conversation and some brilliant insights from the other panellists. Thanks to @insidehousing for inviting me and @martinhilditch for the excellent hosting and chairing.

Webinar: the housing sector’s offer to and asks of the new Labour government dlvr.it/TBC8BX #ukhousing

Early start to get to Bristol for our second Leaders Event. Looking forward to a day with members discussing the General Election, Consumer Standards and changing housing need.

A brilliant day with @GlosCityHomes and a lesson for me in northern sayings that never made it as far as the south coast (cracking the flags...)

Our Chair @MatthewLeedsFed blogs about a recent visit to #newmember @GlosCityHomes He & CEO @CatherineRyder were keen to find out more about them & what they are doing in their communities to put place-shaping at the heart of decision making Read more: shorturl.at/cFqKu

Great to have the opportunity to share my view on the new government and how realising the potential of devolution could help solve the unique housing challenges every area faces.

#GE24 “The other commitment Labour made in its manifesto, which could be truly transformative, is to further devolve housing to local decision-makers” Our CE @CatherineRyder in @insidehousing on what we might expect from the new government. insidehousing.co.uk/comment/a-labo…

1 day to #GE24 The next government has a real opportunity to build a new generation of social housing and kickstart regeneration. We stand ready to work with them to deliver on a #PlanForHousing and as #PlaceShapers to do more to help communities thrive. rb.gy/ri4ad9

Great to be part of #Housing2024, hear unique insight from speakers, including @forhousing @AndyBurnhamGM and @tobylloyd, and talk about housing and place. The GE was the hot topic - you can see our message for stakeholders here: placeshapers.org/general-electi…

Looking forward to meeting board members over lunch to look at how the outcome of the general election may change the work of boards. Spoiler, my view is things won't change much in the short term, we have a job to do and boards are getting on with it.

Our CEO @CatherineRyder will be sharing #placeshapers perspective at the #Housing2024 board lunch later today. It's an election special, exploring the changing roles of housing providers and our ask of the new government. @Housing_event #GeneralElection2024 #Collaborate

I agree with this, but I'd also argue we should be more ambitious about how we use the space to build more social housing. And we need to make use of brownfield too. Definitely not binary.

The binary of this debate is depressing. No, I’m not in favour of giving carte blanche to any and every developer to build whatever they like. The government should be far more prescriptive about the quality of what is built and when that is satisfied be far more generous in…
