We will have practice tonight, but not on Thursday (Thanksgiving). Aikido practice will start again on Saturday, November 25 at 3:30, as usual.
We had a wonderful time with Takeguchi Sensei on Saturday. Such a treat to have him guest teach and join us for dinner, too!

Dojo's current COVID policy: Proof of COVID vaccination and mask must be properly worn while inside the building.
Now that spring is here, we will resume weapons classes as part of our regular practice. Come and join us to find out which weapon we will use next!
Starting in January 2022, anyone wishing to train at our dojo must show proof of at least one COVID-19 vaccination. Also, masks must be worn at all times during practice. -- Michael Martin, chief instructor

Aikido practice today starting at 3:00 at the Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church! Also, last practice before Tyler moves to Utah, so chance to say thank you and farewell to him.
After 15 months, Capitol Hill Aikikai plans on resuming its regular aikido classes starting on the evening of Tuesday, June 8 at 7:00 pm. Classes also be held on Thursdays, starting at 7:00, and Saturdays, starting at 3:00.
Considering starting outdoor weapons classes again as of April 3, weather permitting. Questions are: 1. What time; and 2. Where?
Now that there are COVID-19 vaccines, I wonder how long it will be before we can have regular aikido practice again? Or, will we have to modify our safety protocols to adjust to the risk of infection despite the vaccine?
Don't overlook the value of good breathing. Before you start a task, take a moment to pay attention to your breathing. At night before you go to sleep, take some time to become aware of how you are breathing. Your task and your sleep may improve.
Yesterday, more than half the nation exhaled in relief. Today, those same people should inhale and get to work repairing the damage done over the last 4 years.
On Saturday, we will have another jo class. For me, what I love about the jo is how alive it feels when it is moving smoothly and efficiently. What I fear about the jo is that when it is alive, it can be so dangerous. It is crucial to blend with the jo, or risk harming yourself!
When was the last time you paid attention to what the universe is trying to show you? Most people spend all their time trying to make the universe abide by their own wishes. Do you think you know more than the universe knows?
