Abdi Mohamed has been elected as Member of Tower Hamlets Council for the Bow East ward. Cllr Mohamed of the Labour Party received a total of 1,266 votes. The turnout for the constituency was 15.18% per cent.
Today is International Day of Disabled People and as a disabled MP I am happy to support Scope and pledge to be a disability ally in Parliament.

Union busting tactics should be outlawed & will be under the new deal for workers. It’s just a shame some who purport to be supportive of strengthening workers rights, including some who should be defending them, have their ego and inability to negotiate, stand in the way.

@CampaignerAbdi raised a point of order asking why an emergency motion on the best value inspection was not accepted by the council. The monitoring officer rises she ruled it out as she did not accept the accuracy of the motion.

Incredibly worrying & disappointing to see @TowerHamletsNow take this approach. Promises made in 2022 to groups across Tower Hamlets seem to have been reneged on, with little scrutiny. Cancelling effective services & contracts is not best value for our borough!
