La madera muerta es, para muchos insectos, una fuente indispensable de alimento y refugio tanto directa (ej. insectos xilófagos 🪵) como indirecta (ej. insectos parasitoides de larvas xilófagas). Tanto es así que este hecho es de gran importancia en la gestión forestal 🌲
