THREAD 1/3 : With all the jobs claims @Our_DA been making I set out to verify them by parsing all 40 QLFS's from StatsSA since 2014. The results are surprising. Over last decade WC accounted for 33.7% of new jobs, WAY ABOVE what its 13.9% SA GDP contribution would suggest. BUT...
This is fake news. WC created 161 000 jobs last year. Not 300 000 as he says. SA created 789 000 jobs but this was just part of bounce back from jobs lost during pandemic. KZN created 315 000 jobs. Highest of all provinces

Had an interesting discussion with friends last night - about how this sub-generation of roughly 27-to-33-year-olds have to carry the heavy burden of correcting the mess(es) created by those immediately before us while setting up those who come after us for success. Itโs a lot.
