Day 1 of the #CND67 Thematic Discussions continues this afternoon, discussing the challenge of synthetic opioids and the non-medical use of prescription drugs, as identified in the 2019 Ministerial Declaration.

#CND67 TD: In opening remarks delivered by @JohnBrandolino on behalf of @UNODC ED @GhadaFathiWaly, the importance of collective effort was emphasized, especially as drug-related discussions become more politicized. Finding common ground is challenging but essential.

In this year's CND Thematic Discussions, Member States who made a pledge in 2024 related to the challenges being discussed have the opportunity to provide an update on the progress of their pledges during the #Pledge4Action Spotlight in each session.
Save the date! #CND67 and #CCPCJ33 Chairs will be co-hosting a special joint event on Friday, 22 November 2024, from 1pm to 3pm Vienna time, to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
