We saw firsthand during the #BCStorm, #AbbotsfordFlood how crucial #volunteers are for evacuations & support. On #InternationalVolunteerDay thank-you to @BCSARAssoc, @CFVSAR, the 100s of volunteers at the evacuation center who gave of themselves to support our community! #Respect
An hour ago these were the conditions in the Whatcom Road and Highway #1 area. The ditches are filled with water and vehicles have been abandoned. The conditions change by the minute. Please respect the evacuation order that is currently in place.
BOIL WATER ADVISORY ISSUED FOR SUMAS PRAIRIE The City of Abbotsford will be restoring water supply to the existing isolated Sumas Prairie water distribution system. This is being done under the Boil Water Advisory in conjunction with Fraser Health.
Team was out today working with AFRS and BCEHS rescue an injured hiker who slipped and fell on the icy trail. Subject was carried down by Fire and SAR personnel to the waiting Ambulance. #teamwork #bcsar #SearchAndRescue #adventuresmart

Coquitlam SAR has been asked to assist @RidgeMeadowsSAR with a stretcher carry of an injured hiker from the emergency shelter on Golden Ears. Heavy smoke means no helicopter evacuation today unless conditions to improve.
Considering where the subject was located, SAR members were likely looking at more than 8 hours of stretcher carrying - which is why Ridge activated @southfrasersar @CFVSAR @MissionSAR and @CoquitlamSAR to bring the people needed for such a long carry.
Missing Person– Brook Morrison: AbbyPD officers & #SAR have located a deceased man, ID'd as Brook Morrison, off Straiton Rd. Foul play is not suspected. AbbyPD extends our condolences to Brook's family & friends.BC Coroners Service is now investigating. bit.ly/3lRjB4z
Team is continuing the search for Mr. Morrison today. Today we will concentrating on technical areas and utilizing low flying aircraft. General public is requested to avoid the Ledgeview trails to allow our teams to work effectively. @AbbyPoliceDept
There will be no active searching on Eagle Ridge fur Ali Naderi today as SAR managers and RCMP review the task so far and plan for next steps.
