Thank you @UConnEngineer students for being amazing during this difficult semester!

one more latte …ahem, excuse me, buoyant convection simulation, for all coffee lovers out there ☕️ as in the previous post, code, simulation and visualization by our student @jacobjivanov ☕️☕️☕️

Live footage frothing milk for a latte

Even the colorbar cannot contain its excitement about this cool animation of buoyant convection by our student @jacobjivanov! This was our CFD class term project last semester. Animation shows scaled temperature (top panel) and velocity magnitude+streamlines (bottom).

University Communications produced a great video highlighting our work on wind energy! We are very grateful to the Eversource Energy Center @UConnEEC for supporting this research. youtube.com/watch?v=S_ZhFU…

My flight leaving Houston is delayed because bees have congregated on the tip of one of the wings. They won’t let us board until they remove the bees. But how on earth will this happen? Won’t they leave the wing when we take off?

It was inspiring to spend time with artist Karen LaMonte @karenlamonte and chat about art & clouds. Many thanks to Karen for giving us some of her precious time. Check out her work — including cloud sculptures — at karenlamonte.com. In the picture Karen is signing her book

Thank you @NCAR_CGD for hosting us and organizing the #CESM Workshop. It was nice to be back in Boulder! This is Oumaima @Vagalust and Obaidullah with their poster.

And that's a wrap on the 2023 #CESM Workshop 🥳🎉 A huge thanks to everyone who joined us in Boulder as well as our online participants, see everyone next year!

Check out our visualizations and those of others in this special collection in @PhysRevFluids All articles are freely available. These articles are a great read: striking visuals, interesting problems in fluid physics, short, and accessible to non-experts in the field.

#TBT @ PRFluids: ''A picture is worth a thousand words''. Every year, we publish a collection of APS DFD's Gallery of Fluid Motion. Authors showcase their research through striking visualizations. See 2021's collection here and stay tuned for this year's! go.aps.org/3EbeO9f
