Buying an existing farm already developed, requires a lot more due diligence than buying a plot of land which you plan to develop. Need to make sure the current owner didn’t cut any corners

When almond prices are high, you’ll only find developmental deals in secure water districts. Have to pay an arm and leg, pour tons of money in and wait 3-4 years, to potentially see some money 3-4 yrs later

Every one talks about big pharma ads being dangerous, but nobody talks about the danger of ads promoting sports gambling. It seems like every young person has become a gambling addict Would love to see some sort of legislation stopping the promotion of sports gambling

You only get one reputation

1/3 For the third year in a row total almond acreage has declined to 1,525,638 acres in CA. Bearing acres for 2024 are now estimated at 1,383,332 acres. This is less than a 1% increase from last year's bearing acreage.

Land IQ acreage report for almonds coming out tomorrow.

Acquisitions: If I don’t see the water information in the property description, I assume the property has no water

I think planting Butte Padre variety is a good move if you’re planting almonds. Nobodies planting the variety anymore and whatever’s left in the ground is old. There’s still a market for it since it’s mainly used for candies and protein bars

I can’t believe how fast inshell prices are climbing right now. Nonpareil inshell is up about 25 cents and will still climb Let this be a lesson: if you can afford to hold, usually worth doing the exact opposite everyone else is doing in the industry

Success isn’t linear.

I’m generally a big fan of Trump, but this guy clearly has no idea how nuts are grown on a commercial level. Having an orchard is different than growing crops in your backyard

RFK Jr proposed what he describes as a ‘Win-Win’ plan for farmers AND consumers

Wild, and it will unfortunately only get worse: Land Values with Only Groundwater Plummet in value agalert.com/california-ag-…

I don’t understand how pistachio prices have stayed at 2.00 despite shipments being up 30%, it being an “off year” and only 184 million pound carry out I get that lot of land is coming into production every year, but still doesn’t feel right.

Seems like almond prices will stay firm until we know for sure how big the crop size will be

The inshell premium will come. The main question is: When?
