Mănăstirea Humorului — built 1530 by Petru Rareș, Voivode of Moldavia. As one of Romania's unique frescoed monasteries, its beautiful exterior walls depict scenes of the Last Judgement as well as the intervention of the Holy Theotokos during the 626 Siege of Constantinople. ☦️🇷🇴

Sinopia — The red ochre used during Renaissance to underpaint frescoes takes name from a specific pigment used during antiquity that was exported from the city of Sinope & sourced from Cappadocia. This was then used throughout the Classical world, such as on the murals of Pompeii
