Our Befriending Project - Connect - is 1! To celebrate we held a get together for our befrienders. A huge thanks to all our Befrienders, not all of who could attend. Without you we couldn't run this amazing project. #charity #nationallottery #volunteers #befrienders #befriending

We asked Jonathan, John, and Yvonne what they liked best about volunteering for The Helpful Bureau and why they would recommend that others volunteer with us. Here's what they said!

Meet Jonathan! Jonathan was inspired to volunteer when he went out with his granddad and friends. We noticed his kindness and willingness to help and asked if he wanted to come and help out regularly. We're grateful that he decided to give it a go! #VolunteersWeek

Meet Yvonne! She's a psychotherapist and was inspired to volunteer after hearing someone talk about their concern about someone they knew who might be lonely. She enjoys the reward of helping older people stay independent in their homes. #VolunteersWeek

Meet John! A former primary school teacher, he got involved with The Helpful Bureau to help his mental health recovery. 29 years on, he's still enjoying "being a small part of a wonderful, friendly and worthwhile charity, helping others in our community." #VolunteersWeek
