In one of the toughest years for the world in a long time, this might be the toughest day of all for baseball fans. Vin Scully is not with us any more. He was the best. He is now in the best place.
Has anybody seen a play like the one in the Astros-Mariners game involving Jeremy Pena and Jesse Winker? A shortstop in the shift raced to field a slow bouncer and flipped from his glove to first, running about as far as the batter-runner. They collided after Winker crossed 1B.
