Pleasing the viewers and paying readers is the business plan on both the media left and right. It's caused by the STRENGTHS and weaknesses of digital tech. acton.org/religion-liber…
Thursday in San Juan. Capitol of Puerto Rico, scenes from Castillo San Cristóbal and Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Columbus statue downtown.
Trump seems to be really upsetting the media, but I'm out of the loop. St. Thomas U.S.V.I. today. Where I got a daiquiri, view from highest pt on island, downtown Charlotte Amalie, bloodletting service truck.
Sad: "In D.C., smashing plates and throwing axes ease election woes" washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/…
Great job by @BonillaJL filling in for me this week.
Liberal Media Scream: How dare Trump make demands on Senate, CNN whines @BonillaJL @theMRC 'The Biden parade of horribles drew nary a peep. Now, the media go nuts about norms the second a just-reelected Trump talks about staffing his administration via recess appointments.'…
A sea day today. Some more pics from Nassau and New Providence on Monday. Government House without missing Columbus statue, restaurants, inside John Watlings rum distillery, the Straw Market.
I didn't plan on buying a souvenir hat in Nassau. But this was in @newsbusters orange and said NB!
Monday in Nassau Bahamas. The Queen's Staircase, visit to sample a rum cake, tower at top of the staircase.
Departing late afternoon Sunday from Port Everglades for my second cruise of the year. Views of Fort Lauderdale before and after departure.

No self awareness! @lbarronlopez, a correspondent for PBS, while on CNN, blamed Kamala Harris loss on how “there is an entire right wing media ecosystem that doesn’t exist on the left and it does not exist in the center or mainstream.”
No respect for his fellow citizens. Just disdain and anger. Quite a "comedy" show.
COLBERT: "Well, [bleep]. It happened...Today, I wore my 'I am questioning my fundamental belief in the goodness of humanity' sticker...the majority has spoken, and they said that they don't care that much about democracy"
Because three broadcast networks, the NY Times, Washington Post & L.A. Times, plus Hollywood luminaries with their big megaphones not to mention CNN and MSNBC are just not enough. Good lord.
Democrats are going to keep losing until they have their own Joe Rogan, their own Elon Musk and until they create their own alternative to Fox News. It is not good enough to contest conservative messaging in these existing spaces. Democrats must create their own.
ABC’s @MarthaRaddatz (3:05 AM ET) laments: “I don’t think people in the end really knew her. I’m not sure that message really got out. There was such enthusiasm” for Kamala Harris but “it just stalled, it just stopped and I do think voters really didn’t get a chance to know her”
Jonathan @CapehartJ on PBS at 1:57 AM ET: Trump’s victory means “I can’t help but wonder if the American people have given up on democracy.”
“We can go back” to “false stories written about Trump while he was President and date the beginning of this from back in that period in terms of the loss of credibility of mainstream media, loss of credibility for people hurling around Nazi...People...didn’t buy it” – @BritHume
“We’re three states short: The father, the son, and the Holy Ghost” – James Carville at 11:42 PM ET on Amazon @PrimeVideo’s #ElectionNightLive
“What I’m seeing and what I’m feeling is this return to shock” – Puck founder @Baratunde Thurston on Amazon @PrimeVideo’s #ElectionNightLive. “It’s not just a Donald Trump thing. It’s an America thing and...there are some elements of us that find this attractive.”
“The country does not deserve” Trump, @realBobWoodward declared on Washington @PostLive “The country deserves somebody who will really care about the country, have a plan and have a spine” – like Kamala Harris.
“Fascist to the core.” On Washington @PostLive @realBobWoodward concedes “maybe he [Trump] is going to win.” Then he proceeded to regurgitate how he had a list of “people who’ve spent their lives defending the United States” who “look at Trump now with trepidation.”
