I’m super excited to let everyone know I’ve been elected to the Board of Directors for INHSU @INHepSU Since joining this network in 2018, I’ve felt included, valued & heard. I feel very privileged & blessed to bring my voice and the voice of community to the table #HepCULater

Lost for words at this exceptional piece of audio. Stop what you're doing and just listen.

The Never Use Alone hotline exists so drug users can call if they are using by themselves. Someone will stay on the line in case they overdose. We hear the recording of one such call, and everything that followed. bit.ly/48acv3w

We are delighted to share our toolkit for the annual Campaign to End Violence Against Women Who Use Drugs, including a call for applications for the small grants programme.

I hope we did all of the harm reduction folks doing excellent work around the country justice with this piece. I hope we made PWUD feel our love and that some will feel comfortable giving us a call because of this. Here 24/7, confidential, 1-800-972-0590

If you missed the live opportunities to listen to us on @ThisAmerLife - we are now here: thisamericanlife.org/809/the-call

What is the pharmacy hill you’re willing to die on? I’ll start. Patients should be permitted to buy as many syringes as they want without question or judgment. My logic? I’d rather a drug user pay $5 for clean needles than taxpayers for HIV or hepatitis treatments.

A career in academia: fluctuating almost daily between near-manic excitement about a new project and its potential impact, and the overwhelming feeling that your work is unoriginal, uninspired, fruitless and wasteful.

Unfortunately this is a highly incomplete look into non fatal overdose. PWUD are the first responders to the overdose epidemic, not EMS.

Meet Claude, the Pan-London Cepheid machine. Claude was safely installed with @CNWLNHS & @ealing_rise team. We are looking forward to him getting busy with staff finding new cases of #HepC and completing post treatment blood tests. Together we will achieve #HepCULater

We found that police were rarely (10%) needed to administer naloxone, as they were often the last to arrive on scene. While arrests were rare, in some incidents, arrests were made for outstanding warrants (!!). We need expanded Good Sam Law protections bit.ly/3EUdZRg

vulnerability moment: during my 1st year of med school, my #depression and 🏳️‍🌈-related #bodyimage issues really down spiraled. I remember going to the anatomy lab one evening, looking at the deceased donor and thinking, "wow, even a dead person looks better than me." I bolted home

Sometimes a reflective practice is not enough. We need a good tool to access that practice. The Emotional Pool is just that tool. Our featured Sunday archived episode. #ADHD #podcast podbean.com/ew/pb-at32w-10…

Would providing an apartment to homeless ppl solve all their problems? Obv no. But it would mean a place to: - Sleep - Drink water - Use bathroom - Store meds - Be visited by social workers - Be safe from heatwaves/snow - Throw away trash - Keep clothes & possessions safe
