Absolutely farcical public transport situation in #Bradford city centre. No time table information - how am I to know how long I expect to wait. City absolutely stinks today too. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to advocate for this place ☹️ @bradfordmdc @Bradford_TandA

Can heartily recommend this if you’re up in that neck of the woods. We went a couple of years ago - lovely and knowledgeable people (and we saw a beaver!) 🥜🦫

May 1st at 7pm sees our 1st Beaver Walk of the year. We start at the Argyll Beaver centre. Walks last around 2 hrs and we set a very gentle pace. Tickets cost £16 for adults and £8 for children (>16 years). To book and for further info visit: argyllbeavercentre.co.uk/walks-events

Esther McVey, Minister for Common Sense, and her husband talk a lot about wasteful public spending. But how careful are they with your money in their own lives? We’ve found out. 👀

Dangerous for all road users. See also state of pavements - broken flags and sunken tarmac - after selfish drivers park on them.

🚨 Anyone moving around #Bradford will see just how bad many roads are. 🚧 We all know that #potholes are dangerous for all road users, pedestrians, #cyclists and motorists. 🪙 But this money is a short term solution. We need to fund local government properly.

Thinking aloud here with no fully formed answers yet. Yesterday Kings Cross put up a message all day saying that everyone was a sinner and should repent. I think it’s pretty obvious that this goes beyond what one might support as the equal celebration of religious events in a…

The very rich – the 1% – attract most of the attention when it comes to disproportionate emissions. But the 10%, i.e. earning more than £32k a year, are responsible for half of all global emissions. This group is key to ending the climate crisis. theguardian.com/environment/20…

The lesson of Tallinn's fare-free experience, from Estonian transport expert @MariJussi: “Any extra money should be put toward transit service, and not zero fares. Transit’s price is not a barrier for most people. It’s service quality and speed of the trip.”

As as academic at the @UniofExeter I feel a responsibility to point out that what George says here is perhaps not entirely correct. He said @UniofExeter accept over £10million from fossil fuel companies each year. This year @UniofExeter recieved £14million from @Shell

🦺 George, 23, putting liberty on the line to demand the UK Government stop all new oil and gas licenses. 🎓 Meanwhile, Exeter Uni takes over £10 MILLION from fossil fuel donors each year. 💀 Universities have failed young people. It's time to step up: juststopoil.org/students

No one's laughing here. Bradford is bigger than Newcastle, Bristol, Liverpool and Nottingham. We need a mainline city centre rail station to match our size and ambition. We have huge economic potential which Government need to take seriously.

Laughter at Conservative conference when Lee Anderson is asked about cancelling HS2 and the impact it will have on local services, such as those to Bradford and replies: "Anyone here from Bradford? Would you want to get there quicker?" #CPC23
