Giving up smoking - how to do it without distressing yourself (it depletes your vitamin levels that are vtal for a strong immune system)
Here's how I did it: Most cigarettes are "habit" (you have them at set times or stuations), ~10% are "addiction" (you need the nicotine). Start by cutting out "habit" cigs, 1 or 2 each day, over about 3wks. So, dont smoke at every tea break, or when you get to the lights etc. 1/2
Before I dive into the issues, let’s just recap where we are… In the UK, if you’re under 65 and not ‘at risk’, the last time you were eligible for a Covid vaccination was 2 years ago (Autumn 2022). For most under 50s, it’s been 3 years since you were eligible (Autumn 2021).
This thread is brilliant - and it sums up one corner of the problem here in the UK: We have a 'vaccines only policy' that refuses to provide vaccines.
COVID VACCINE ELIGIBILITY 🇬🇧, a thread🧵 JCVI have just advised that, going forwards, eligibility for Covid vaccination will be even more tightly restricted. But the ‘bespoke cost-effectiveness assessment’ upon which this is based is heavily flawed… gov.uk/government/pub…
Of course, this lack of testing impacts the death records too. Here’s an example of data from just one week in late September. 12.8% of all deaths involved flu or pneumonia… …but the ARI data shows us there was practically no flu at that time, but a LOT of Covid (in purple).
This whirlpool can power 300 homes, and fish can swim straight through it unharmed. We have so many solutions. Implement them. #ActOnClimate #climate #energy #renewables #go100re
Prof Colin McKay was chief of medicine at Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 2020. At #covidinquiry today he said his infection control teams were convinced Covid was airborne virus as early as April 2020. WHO and NHS both firmly saying it wasn't airborne at that stage (they were wrong).
China just cut off battery supplies to US military drone makers Skydio, causing an immediate shortage and rationing -- but Ukrainian Wild Hornets are already assembling their own drone batteries, my take for @forbes forbes.com/sites/davidham…
NEW: A firm run by the major Conservative donor, and supporter of Boris Johnson, Anthony Bamford has funded a £8,000 helicopter trip for the Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage @rowenamason reports
I take no position on Brexit but must point out that its consequences are disastrous. #classic.
"As a public official, I take no position on #Brexit, but I do have to point out consequences. The impact on trade underlines why we must be alert to and welcome opportunities to rebuild relations." NB Bailey was chosen by Johnson as Brexit-friendly. ~AA bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Lisa Nandy handled this very well. I'm *absolutely fine* with farmers adding 20% to their prices, by the way. It won't add >1% to store prices of food. Why? Because Supermarkets pay a pittance to farmers then add huge markups. In fact farmers are often forced to sell at a loss.
"My family's been on this land for 375 years. I want to pass this down to my boys... you're taking that away from me... shame on you" Welsh farmer Gareth Wyn Jones challenges Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy on #PoliticsLive over inheritance tax changes bbc.in/494TIYh
The problem is, if COPs are only held in countries that support Climate Action, those causing the problems will just ignore them. I'm fine with them being *held* in fossil fuel producing countries - but not with hosts using them to promote fossil fuel theguardian.com/environment/20…
So... Jenrick & Dowden dismissed concerns & recommendations & gave a big overpayment to a company without due diligence for an unuseable property. So now we need to know "who is behind Brockwell Group Bexley LLP". Tory donors perhaps? theguardian.com/politics/2024/…
Sir Keir Starmer is head and shoulders above any of the dross we’ve had to endure over the last 14 years.
I really don't expect so much support. But, please if there's anyone outside the biased media, who thinks Keir Starmer is a kind of pretty good Prime Minister, please repost
Portugals turn. The world is changing before our eyes. People are ignoring it. They won’t be able to for much longer.

It's all infrastructure - this is physical visible but there are many other forms such as business & education connectivity. Neoliberalism is the policy of destroying infrastructure to crash & plunder a democratic industrial nation to 3rd world status: Here we see the reverse

Good news that a man suspected of being a significant supplier of small boat equipment has been arrested. I want to thank @NCA_UK and their Dutch and Belgian counterparts for their work on this investigation. Our approach to smashing criminal gangs is already having an impact.
Pharmacist complains about 10 years of underfunding but did nothing about it until now. Why didn’t they take industrial action under the Tories. #bbcbreakfast
