Thank you @UofGlasgow for bestowing upon my mum the honorary degree of doctor of the University of Glasgow. This has brought her so much joy in the final beats of her life. Janey is so honoured, and I am so immensely proud of her. Congratulations Doctor Godley. Ashley Storrie
58 years today 🕰️ at 9.13 am on October 21 1966, the clocks stopped for 116 children & 28 adults - my father Gareth Bowen was one of the first journalists on the scene. Listen to the BBC archive clip below 👇🏼 #RememberAberfan
On this day in 1966 116 children & 28 adults were killed when a coal tip slide into the school & streets of #Aberfan. My father Gareth Bowen, then a 35 year old BBC journalist, rushed to Aberfan to do this report. He was born not far away. I recall him coming home exhausted

Wow. It’s 2024 and I’ve just had to crawl along the floor of this LOT Polish airline to get to the toilet during a flight back from Warsaw as “we don’t have onboard wheelchairs. It’s airline policy”. If you’re disabled and you can’t walk this is just discriminatory.

The best Friday Good News Story Thank you @royalmarsdenNH Big Brother discharged after very scary #BowelCancer journey 🎉🎉🎉
Discharged 5 years & 4 months after diagnosis of stage 3 bowel cancer - it was in my lymph nodes plus the highly undesirable B-RAF mutation. Get tested if you have something weird happening in your bowels, or even if you haven’t. I had none of the usual symptoms
