It’s so fun to see all the #Swifties around town. Sparkly sequins, tinsel jackets, smiles and friendship bracelets. We need this. #ThanksTaylor

The way Toronto is celebrating Taylor Swift you'd think she was personally finishing construction on the Eglinton LRT

Shocked. I. Am. Shocked that @fordnation is ignoring advice from his own government. This never happens 🙄#ONpoli

A Ford government plan to build a new GO station beside a marquee development in Mississauga, first announced last year, disregarded advice from the province’s own transit planning agency, Global News has learned. globalnews.ca/news/10864269/… #onpoli

Pierre Poilievre muzzles his MPs and doesn’t let them do their jobs. 17 Conservative MPs asked for Housing Accelerator funds for their municipalities. But Pierre Poilievre won’t let them access it because… the Liberals came up with the idea. “Just the fact that this story…

Agree! There is a way to increase density to add a variety of housing types without sacrificing vibrancy at street level. We can do this. Other cities do this. We have to consider this when designing new buildings on our avenues. #TOpoli

The vibrant, small-scale retail on our city’s main streets support our local economy and vibrant, walkable, affordable and successful neighbourhoods.  Unfortunately, we’re losing these cherished streetscapes to the all too familiar block-killing banks, giant dentist offices…

"This is exhibit A for why Toronto needs a Charter City," says Councillor Jamaal Myers. "Whatever you think of bike lanes, I think we can all agree we don't need Queen's Park telling us how to run our city."

I’m not an economist but.. 1. Our dollar fluctuates 2. Isn’t this good for our exports? 3. Forgive me for this but my concern isn’t for folks who are travelling to their 2nd homes in the sun when people here don’t have affordable homes.

Our dollar is now worth 71 cents U.S. That is quite the drop. It hurts our individual purchasing power. Like inflation, this makes everything more expensive. Then there is the impact on snowbirds. Look back to before Trudeau was elected.

Is Holyday just mad because he’s never eaten on a patio? Are there no strip malls in his ward that have restaurant patios that might benefit from his support? #TOpoli

Wrapping up now. A report on the CafeTO program CARRIES 20-1. Councillor Cheng also passed an amendment calling for a look at ways to support strip mall patios. secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda…

Seems like another winning proposal from Ford and friends. I expect @fordnation to read this report and then totally ignore it, as is his pattern. #ONpoli

In summary, Ford's bike lane removals will, according to a new City Hall report: - Cost $75 million in direct costs and sunk costs. - Make traffic much, much worse for at least nine months during construction to remove lanes - Have minimal long-term impact on car travel times.

I’m also there in the other place. You can follow me. If you don’t I will have to assume that my opinions are not as earth shatteringly fascinating as I think they are. Still here….for now.

He doesn’t think there’s a housing crisis. #TOpoli

#TOpoli What is Holyday's problem? He wants more homeless people?

So it’s not just housing that you can attain? 🤨 Isn’t that Fords definition? #ONpoli #NotGettingItDone

NEW: Two years after the Ford government tasked one of its agencies with offering strategic advice on an attainable housing program, the policy remains dormant and the province says it is still working on a definition for the term. globalnews.ca/news/10864593/… #onpoli

He opposes traffic lights?! But why? #TOpoli

Councillor Stephen Holyday wants a recorded vote on whether to authorize the installation of traffic lights at Kingston Road and Columbine Avenue in Beaches - East York. The traffic lights are APPROVED 23-1. Okay then. secure.toronto.ca/council/agenda…

And how many of those “levers” would he vote against being used? 🤨 #TOpoli

Councillor Stephen Holyday has printed out charts and is now comparing the growth of rental costs with the growth of housing prices. He disputes that there's a "housing crisis" in Toronto. He says council has "so many levers it can control to make life more affordable."
