Elated to share my lab’s first paper just published @Nature We present a new strategy from a single stem cell type to study events in human development. After past weeks flurry of excitement on this topic, we hope you’ll enjoy our complementary story too. nature.com/articles/s4158…
We’re pleased to share our first publication from the Sozen lab, now out @Nature! Through our 3D strategy, we capture spontaneous emb. + exembr. lineage bifurcation to study aspects of early human embryo patterning, starting from a single stem cell type. nature.com/articles/s4158…
🍭 @DominicaCao, Jenna Bergmann (@bergmann_jenna), and a team in Dr. @BernaSozen_'s lab examined the role of glucose in #gastrulation! Read the @Nature paper: go.nature.com/4fbgmQc Listen to the discussion in our latest episode: bit.ly/48ghgsq
Love this tandem talk format!
The first talk of day 3 at #SRCKC24 is from @BernaSozen_ and #PhD student @pedroza_monique from @Yale! #DevBio #ResearchConference
Really enjoyed contributing to this wonderful journal club series for @NatureRevGenet - thanks for the invitation @LinkoNRG ! #metabolism #development

nature.com/articles/s4158… We’re incredibly excited to present our work investigating the role of metabolism in mammalian development, out now in @Nature showing two state-specific spatiotemporal waves of glucose activity guiding mouse gastrulation

Our spotlight "Advancing stem cell technologies for conservation of wildlife biodiversity" now online in @Dev_journal's special issue on Uncovering Developmental Diversity. It has been an incredible privilege working with this fantastic group of authors! doi.org/10.1242/dev.20…
🎉 Absolutely thrilled to announce that I've been awarded the prestigious @NIHDirector’s New Innovator Award !🚀I’m so excited to join the 2024 cohort of bold, early-stage investigators in the High-Risk, High-Reward Research program. Watch this space !!!💥🌍#NIHHighRisk
Our new work is out today! Long time in the oven, this has been a really fun and informative collaboration led by Dhanur Iyer in my lab and @HK_Heidar from @NRivron lab. We show that human embryonic cells have an inherent potential to regulate their developmental timing.
interested in 3D genome organization during early development? want to understand how it is shaped by RNA? you like data analysis and developing new computational tools? 🧬💻🧐 With @golobor we are recruiting a PhD student/intern to work with us at @IMBA_Vienna
My lab is looking for PhD students with a background in physics and/or biochemistry/quantitative biology. If interested, please apply to the VBC graduate school. Deadline: Oct 15th.
Thrilled to be attending and sharing my science at #SCDB2024 with @BernaSozen_! Beautiful talks from brilliant developmental biologists so far - @cavankatenaugh, @squishycell1, @h4rrymcnamara, @TheLutolfLab and many others! Reach out if you’re here and would like to chat! 🔬
Don’t miss #SRCKC24 Developmental #CellBiology, 10/23-10/25! Catch dynamic tandem talks, poster sessions, & engaging discussions. Connect with leading experts & peers in the field including speakers @BernaSozen_ & @Pawel_Burkhardt! Register here: bit.ly/3z3VHxM
Congratulations @AnuHemalatha and @FMIscience!! Looking forward to following the cool science on cellular metabolism that comes from your lab 😍
I am happy to announce that I will start my own lab at @FMIscience Basel in Dec2024 focused on using live-imaging to understand how growth signals modulate metabolism in vivo to drive specific cell fate decisions- in homeostasis and deviations caused by oncogenic mutations. 1/6
Explore the latest #research in cell, developmental and evolutionary #biology at #SRCKC24 with an incredible line up of speakers, including keynotes @labonnelab and @BronnerLab! Join us October 23 -25 at the Institute. Learn more + register here: bit.ly/3z3VHxM
