NS is facing a provincial election, but none of the political parties have mentioned a plan to improve infection control & educate the public about Long Covid. You can read our full statement on our website: popns.org @ChenderClaudia @zachchurchill @TimHoustonNS

The PC leader was quick to have a full statement & video about clothes worn to a school assembly, generating national outrage against an elementary, but only managed one sentence about evil KKK racists. Makes one wonder if he is courting the far right to get re-elected #nspoli

This could have been a phone call. But that wouldn't have gotten people from across the province mad at a school administration trying to take care of their students.

In demanding that veterans and members of the Canadian Armed Forces not wear their uniforms while observing Remembrance Day, the leaders at this school are disgracing themselves while demeaning the people who protect our country. Remembrance Day is a day on which we honour those…

user fees (bridge tolls, parking fees) are demand management tools. removing them will worsen congestion and make parking harder to find 🤷

A re-elected PC government will remove parking fees at all Nova Scotia Health facilities and the IWK. Nova Scotians shouldn’t have to worry about parking fees when seeking healthcare, and this is one way we’re showing gratitude to our hardworking healthcare workers. Let’s Make…

I'll likely also spend more time on the other, Twitter-like website mentioned below. my name and handle there are the same.

If I'm online I'll try to spend my time on b**esky where my handle is @katereilly

I'll do a thread on it later, but first take on the housing policy news in the Nova Scotia election is that the Conservatives and NDP are doing demand-side subsidies, while Liberals are focusing much more on regulatory reform and limiting municipalities' ability to quash housing.

Most self-made, first-time homebuyers making offers on entry-level homes will be outbid by a long list of other people. There are simply too many people competing for too few homes at the low end of the market. This will make things worse.

A re-elected PC Government will put the dream of affordable homeownership in reach of more Nova Scotians. 🔑 Let's Make It Happen. 🏡

Like many proud Nova Scotians, I cherish our beautiful beaches & coastlines & want to see them preserved for generations to come. An NDP government will protect our coast, stand up to wealthy developers & safeguard our neighbours from climate change by swiftly passing the…

When I first viewed my apartment, my landlord's phone was blowing up. He scrolled through countless messages he had received about this one unit. The rental vacancy rate is stuck at 1.0% – we need more housing across the board. Does any party have a plan to make this happen?

Rents are soaring, making it harder to afford a home in the communities we love. But Nova Scotia’s NDP is ready to fix this. We’ll ban fixed-term leases and bring in real rent control to keep housing affordable for everyone. Sign to support our plan: act.nsndp.ca/signup/rent-co…

hey @hfxgov, why not pay a real Halifax photographer, designer, or artist to create a real promotional image?

Halifax Transit service changes are coming November 18, 2024. With new and updated service, we’re investing in high ridership routes & areas to make transit more efficient for people travelling throughout the region. Learn more: halifax.ca/servicechanges

This image was created a year ago, so the figure should be much higher than 90% now. Covid transmission continues in hospitals and long-term care unabated. It doesn't need to be this way.

Remember, when it comes to Covid protections, the Premier hasn't had much love for Nova Scotians.

"Tolls clog up traffic... let's get traffic moving" Other places have had congestion pricing for decades to moderate demand and reduce gridlock. Turns out Premier Houston had the solution to traffic all along, and it just happens to be the opposite of what works elsewhere.

The MacKay and Macdonald bridge tolls are nothing more than a tax on getting to work or getting home to see your family, and a re-elected PC Government will scrap the bridge tolls. We're saving you money, time, and getting you moving! Let's make it happen. ✅

Big mistake! Scrapping tolls increases traffic - making your commute even worse. Recent research shows traffic on bridges without alternatives pop 10-20% after toll removal - get ready for gridlock!
