LEASEHOLD – a documentary exposing the injustices of our feudal housing system From ground rent and service charges to mould and combustible cladding, my documentary telling the victim’s stories is now available to watch here: leaseholddoc.com

Condemnation is no longer good enough. Anything short of full sanctions has become complicity.

I condemn Minister Smotrich’s comments proposing annexation of land in the West Bank. Annexation only undermines the prospects for peace, would lead to greater instability and would be illegal under international law. The Israeli government must reject this.

Prime Minister Mia Mottley speaking at #COP29Azerbaijan “We need speed and we need scale, because we are in a new reality regarding the temperatures and the figures.”

Andrew Steer from the Bezos Earth Fund makes the critical point that the data shows where indigenous people have legal tenure, their land it is most resistant to illegal deforestation and exploitation. #COP29Azerbaijan

The world’s first Minister from and for Indigenous Peoples’ communities urges #COP29Azerbaijan to take forward the commitment from Cali to recognise the pivotal role of indigenous peoples in protecting our natural heritage with genuine financial commitment.

Bycatch, by Ted Hughes Prize shortlisted @csmithpoet is out in October 2025. It explores personhood when memory & language are gone, charting the faltering years of a life gradually scraped bare by dementia - finding amongst isolation & sadness moments of epiphany and joy.

Great initiative from this new generation of environmentally focussed MPs. They are right to insist that it takes MPs “of all stripes” to tackle the global emergency and that we need a genuine bi-partisan approach.

The @ClimateAPPG + @EnvironmentAPPG's new Climate and Nature Leadership Programme will harness the new political landscape and secure bold, transformative action. 🌎 More from our chairs @LukeMLabour + @alistrathern in @Politics_co_uk ✍️ politics.co.uk/mp-comment/202…

Today, on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, I am reminded of his timeless message of peace and non-violence—never more relevant than now. And as PM @narendramodi rightly said, "This is not an era for war." My thoughts are with those suffering in the Middle East, Europe, and…

Sir Martin’s Report from the #GrenfellInquiry The greatest tribute to the Grenfell 72 is for government to set a deadline for remediating the homes of the millions of residents still trapped in unsafe buildings. Landlords who fail should have their buildings appropriated.

Thank you Nature 2030. Thrilled to be recognised at tonight’s Political Purpose Awards for my work on Rivers & Oceans. Looking to our wonderful new DEFRA team to ratify The Global Oceans Treaty and give real leadership at the convention on Biological Diversity
