We just debated gutting child protection laws for children who work in our state. Not jobs at the family farm, we’re talking about kids in factories. Unions fought to get child protection laws in place, rolling them back is just another anti-labor attack.
Thank you to Danny Wicentowski & stl npr for digging in deep to find the truth to the undeniable and complete awfulness that Attorney General Andrew Bailey did last year and continues to do to MO families, and the transgender community! stlpr.org/show/st-louis-…
This is why, as much as I admire younger generations, I will not prop my feet up & assume “the next generation will save us.” I know the adults who raise these boys. They’re the same ones who harassed & ran out every Black educator we had in Rockwood. Now’s not the time to rest.
A white Ole Miss frat boy dances like a monkey and makes monkey noises near a Black woman who was protesting for Palestine. Is this heart warming? (Video: @StaceyJSpiehler)
As governor, I’ll work to allow local governments to pass common-sense gun laws that fit their community. I’m a gun owner, but it’s time we take action to prevent gun violence. I’m proud to be a 2024 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate.
While the Missouri Legislature is on spring break next week, we're taking a moment to dive into how Missouri is part of a larger, nationwide, coordinated attack. The fact the State of Missouri has filed more anti-LGBTQ+ bills than any other state is no coincidence.
Nobody in Missouri (or any red state) should be surprised by this. They’re telling us what they’re going to do. It’s time to f*cking pay attention. #MoLeg
🚨Missouri Republicans want to end fertility treatments like IVF and charge women who get abortions with murder.🚨 #moleg
White suburban, college-educated dads who vote GOP in Missouri: That public school your kids love? You’re voting to defund it. Those gun-toting criminals you complain about? You’re voting to arm them. Those daughters you dote on? You’re voting to strip them of their rights.
Katie Britt is the white woman who holds up the whole check-out line demanding the cashier honors her expired Kohl’s cash.
1. The world's largest psychological organization has released a groundbreaking policy resolution supporting trans youth care. The policy passed 153-9 by elected psych leaders representing 157,000 members. It rebuts many anti-trans talking points. Subscribe to support my work!
As every candidate in Missouri inched through the SOS office to file to run and serve our community, we had to stand in front of @JayAshcroftMO's office where he had the door wide open and a large "go pound sand" sign on his desk. This clown is running for Governor now 😑
It's official! Today, I filed to run for governor of Missouri. Together, we can take back our state and take back our rights. Help make Missouri the best place to live, work, and raise a family: secure.actblue.com/donate/crystal…
Missouri doesn’t need more of the same. I’m running for Governor so the people working extra shifts today can make life better for their kids tomorrow. Join me and let’s beat the odds, together: CrystalQuade.com
The City of Columbia's action to protect its LGBTQ+ residents is a growing trend across the state of Missouri as city and community leaders stand up against the hate pouring out of the Missouri State Legislature.
If you follow me you've already read this news, but here it is NBC official: Police now admit that earlier statement that Nex Benedicts death was not due to "trauma" does not mean he didn't die as a result of the fight where he was beat to the ground. nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-ne…
I know everyone's doing their best, but I feel that Judd Legum's reporting on the statements by Nick Boatman, a spokesperson for the Owasso PD, have not been sufficiently incorporated into news stories around Nex Benedict's death.
Erin Reed did a really excellent job with this. I was planning to cover it on Assigned, but this is so thorough I've decided for the present I'm just going to thread a few additional points.
1. A new Finnish study is being used to claim that trans care "does not save lives." Experts say, however, that the study has fatal flaws. Lets fact check key claims, headlines emerging from it, and even a finding that trans care DOES save lives. Subscribe to support my work.
1000% THIS.
I just ran away from a mass shooting at the Chiefs parade where I saw the Missouri governor (the gun lover below) running scared for his life next to me with an army of officers protecting him. I am so sick of these NRA funded politicians. #GunControlNow
The number of messages I have gotten from cisgender people who read Pamela Paul's article and were nearly swayed until reading mine easily debunking it is unreal. I am glad I am able to fight back. But I do NOT have the reach that the New York Times has to offer.
1. The New York Times has published a 4,500 word opinion piece by Pamela Paul targeting transgender care. It is filled with inaccuracies, faulty citations, and factually incorrect claims. Lets dive in. Subscribe to support my work.
Shocking no one, Missouri Rep Gragg is full of shit. Approving the #HB1989 title change would’ve allowed the ONLY amendment to move forward, which was (wait for it) increasing teacher pay. Voting no allowed the MO GOP to lie & say it wasn’t about teacher pay. @PeterforMO #MoLeg
Now Representative, we were both there and I should not have to point out to you that this screenshot is of an amendment to change the name of a bill and NOTHING to do with salaries of any kind. 2 Timothy 2:15
Woman running for Secretary of State in MO vows to continue banning books in Missouri.
🚨WATCH THIS CLIP! Last night Valentina Gomez, running for Secretary of State in MO, vowed to continue these attacks. This is why we show up and take up space. The attack on our community couldn’t be more obvious at this point. Hate will never silence us.
