Watching the recap of parliamentary questioning on JP9102... the senators are asking all the right questions. #jp9102 #satcom #yourADF

For those in the know, JP9102 WAS a multi -orbit solution. Phase 1, the sovereign component, was in GEO. Alliances and commercial made up the other orbits. They all worked in concert to provide a resilient comms solution. What are we supposed to do now?! defence.gov.au/news-events/re…

Absolutely gutted about the decision to scrap #JP9102. There’s a lot to unpack here and I’m positive @RichardMarlesMP isn’t aware of the full strategic ramifications. We will spend billions more over the next 20 years trying in vain to plug the gap this leaves. #yourADF #satcom

Look what arrived on my doorstep today! @dunc4nbl4ke and @CassandraSteer you both must be so proud (and relieved) that it’s out on the street now. Congrats to you both and all the other contributors! #miltwitter #spacelaw

Beyond proud to serve with this team. ❤️ #yourADF #PartnershipMatters #satcom #miltwitter

#USSPACECOM hosted the @DeptofDefense Integrated Satellite Communications Operations Summit, where representatives from the #DoD & commercial SATCOM working groups, & international partners met to align resolutions & guidance for communication satellite bands.

Welcome to the team, Ma’am! We’re excited to have you lead us. I know #satcom will be in great hands under your guidance. Hopefully you’ll be able to make the trek to Colorado during your tenure. Would love to see you! #miltwitter #yourADF

Honoured to accept command of Joint Capabilities Group. My thanks to LTGEN Frewen on a superb tour. Excited to work with the JCG team as the #SpaceDomain & #CyberDomain lead, & lead the delivery of theatre logistics support!

Together with our international partners, today we released an advisory outlining the threat to Australian networks from a PRC state-sponsored actor. APT40 is increasingly using vulnerable infrastructure to compromise Australian networks. Read more 👉 cyber.gov.au/about-us/view-…

Happy #FathersDay to the #militaryspouse dads. These unsung heroes do the kid pickup when we’re on duty, organise removals when we’re overseas, and uproot their careers every few years to go to bases that have “wives clubs”. You are seen, appreciated and loved. ❤️ #miltwitter

For some time I’ve been thinking about the stovepipes that we—the US in particular—view #SATCOM (wideband, narrowband, etc). I don’t think it’s helpful or relevant in modern warfare. Thoughts? I should probably write a paper… #miltwitter #space

Huge congrats to Kat on her deeply touching art piece. Lest we forget. #miltwitter

Thoughts are with all those on shift in space ops centres around the world… this is the stuff of nightmares when you’re the one on watch. #miltwitter #satops

Maximum potential for northern lights visibility tonight: Naked-eye visible down to the the Carolinas and Oklahoma Possible to view on the horizon to Florida and Southern California. G4 storm forecast is the highest in 19 years.

Hey #miltwitter team, hit me with your fav vendors for custom #military unit #merch: shirts, patches, coins, etc. we’re a small crew do prefer a place that doesn’t require a huge minimum order…

So today I learned that “schmozzle” isn’t a word in US vernacular… this deprivation of vocabulary options to succinctly yet accurately describe military situations is somewhat disturbing. #miltwitter

Manoeuvre. Because despite using it on a near daily basis, it still occasionally trips me up... and then I find myself posted into the US military enterprise where for some inexplicable reason, they spell it "maneuver". 🤯 #miltwitter #SpellingNemesis

What word is your spelling nemesis? This is a safe space.

... much like funding new (ooo - shiny!) spacecraft without also funding the (ugh - boring!) ground infrastructure required to actually use said spacecraft operationally ...

Sometimes, the Air Force reminds me of that kid in grade school who would spend his lunch money on candy and then want other people to buy his lunch for him. airandspaceforces.com/air-force-budg…

So excited to hear that MAJGEN Susan Coyle is the new @CJC_ADF Such a technically competent and genuinely nice leader - a credit to #yourADF. #SATCOM will be in great hands under her watchful eye. BZ Ma'am. #miltwitter abc.net.au/news/2024-04-1…

Not gonna lie… today is a struggle, seeing families enjoy each other’s company while mine is on the other side of the world. 😭 #MilitaryLife #yourADF #OneDayAtATime
